JUST IN: Chaos As Aspirants, Party Members Flee Kogi PDP Primaries
Hell was let loose at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium, venue of the Kogi State Governorship Primaries of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as gunmen invaded the elections.
The unknown gunmen took centre stage at the elections when they made their arrival at exactly 1:45 a.m when sorting of the votes cast was ongoing.
The election which started 6 p.m saw seven aspirants step down for former Governor and an aspirant, Idris Wada. The election sees Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye up against Wada.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, eight ballot boxes had been sorted before the gunmen disrupted the process, and bullets rained in the air.
Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri was said to have missed being hit by a bullet by whiskers as security men whisked him away to safety.
