GOVERNOR SANI BELLO FELICITATES WITH CHRISTIANS AT CHRISTMAS AMID COVID-19 WAVE

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has felicitated with all Nigerlites, particularly the Christian Brothers and sisters on the occasion of the annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas.

The Governor, in a Christmas message said the Yuletide provides yet another glorious time and opportunity for sober reflection on the miraculous birth of Christ and the divine salvation of mankind which it characterizes.

He admonished the Christian Faithful to emulate the exemplary teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ who, in his life time preached and practiced love, peace, forgiveness, compassion and unity amongst all humans.

“It is obvious that this year’s Christmas has come with some economic challenges precipitated by the resurgence of COVID-19.

Nonetheless, I urge you all to show compassion, love and generosity to the less privileged, the displaced and extend hands of unity among people of other faith ethnic group and along sociocultural divides”.

Governor Sani Bello used the opportunity to remind Nigerlites on the resurgence of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic and warned against flouting the NCDC protocols and containment measures of regular Hand washing with Soap and Sanitizer, use of Face Mask and physical distancing especially during the festive season.

“We have been alerted on the deadly nature of the second wave of the pandemic, we must tread cautiously and apply every precautionary and containment measures in place to avoid another round of lockdown and its accompanying consequences”.

On the security situation in the State, Governor Sani Bello who acknowledged the immense sacrifices being made by the security agencies and the Vigilantes in the fight against banditry, kidnapping and Cattle rustling, renewed his administration’s commitment to the partnership.

“We have committed time and enormous resources in the joint military action against these criminal elements, we’ll not relent in our resolve because security of lives and property of our people is sacrosanct and non-negotiable”.

While wishing our fellow Christians a joyous Christmas celebration, Governor Sani Bello assured Nigerlites that, despite the recession occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, his administration remains focused in delivering service to the people.
