Bashir Ahmad and Lauretta Onochie, both personal aides to President Muhammadu Buhari have been reappointed, contrary to reports making the rounds in some news outlets (ALEDEH excluded).
Onochie and Ahmad’s appointments came officially through a statement by Abiodun Oladunjoye, a Deputy Director (Information) at the Presidential Villa.
Recall that ALEDEH had reported the reappointments of Garba Shehu as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity and Femi Adesina as Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
Laolu Akande, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s aide and others attached to the President’s office have also been reappointed.
Oladunjoye in the statement revealed that Buhari also reappointed Tolu Ogunlesi as his special assistant, digital/new media; Ahmad, personal assistant, new media; Onochie, personal assistant, social media; and Bashiru, personal assistant, visual documentation.
“Following the election of Hon. Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada, the former Personal Assistant, Broadcast Media, as the lawmaker representing Kano Municipal Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, the President has appointed Buhari Sallau as his replacement,” he said.
“All appointments take effect from May 29, 2019, except that of the new entrant into the team, Buhari Sallau.”
