2019 Poll:Supreme Court Fixes Wednesday For Hearing of Atiku’s Appeal
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has fixed Wednesday, October 30, 2019, for the commencement of the hearing of appeal suit filed by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar and his party challenging the judgment of the presidential election tribunal, which affirmed the election of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The PDP made this known in a teaser statement issued on Sunday via its official Twitter handle.
The party’s tweet reads, “Breaking News! The Supreme Court of Nigeria has scheduled to hear the Appeal of the @OfficialPDPNig and @atiku / @PeterObi, arising from the judgment of the Appeal Court, on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. It’s time to #RescueNigeria.”
The Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal has on September 2nd upheld the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and his Party, the All Progressives Congress as the winner of February 23rd general election.
